Institutional Grants and Scholarships

dsdt-training

At DSDT College, we are committed to ensuring that all students have access to the financial resources necessary to succeed in their academic journey. Our scholarship and grant programs are designed to support students based on financial need, and we offer internal funding opportunities to help reduce the burden of tuition costs.

Eligibility for Scholarships and Grants

To be considered for a scholarship or grant, all students must complete the internal Application for Financial Assistance each registration semester.

  • For Students Who Have Submitted a FAFSA:
If you have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will be eligible for grants based on your remaining financial need. This determination is made using the information from your Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) and Student Aid Index (SAI).
  • For Students Who Do Not Use Federal Student Aid or Have Not Completed a FAFSA:

If you have not submitted a FAFSA, you can still apply for financial assistance. Submit a scholarship application here to have your financial need assessed. The assessment will consider factors such as your independent/dependent statusliving arrangementsstate of residence, and outstanding tuition and fee cost.

Awarding Grants Based on Financial Need

You're Invited: DSDT College Killeen Open House – May 16, 2025

Grants are awarded based on the financial need determined during the application process. The amount you receive will depend on your demonstrated need, and we award grants in order of greatest to least financial need. Grants will never exceed your remaining tuition and fees or your assessed financial need, whichever is lesser.

Disbursement of Grants
  • Scholarships and grants are distributed twice per year, on the last business day of June and the last business day of December.
  • At the time of disbursement, your financial need will be reassessed to ensure your grant is based on the most current financial information.
Donations & Funding

External donations, including contributions from corporations, alumni, and private donors, fund these scholarships and grants. Donations are accepted year-round, and funds are allocated based on financial need.

Appeals Process

If you believe your financial need was assessed incorrectly or if your application was denied unfairly, you have the option to appeal the decision. Appeals must be submitted within 30 days of receiving notification about your grant or scholarship. Your appeal must include:

  • A formal request explaining why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.
  • Supporting documentation that shows financial hardship or incorrect assessment.

Appeals will be reviewed by the Director of Financial Aid, and you will receive a final decision within 15 business days.

Review & Compliance

We review our scholarship and grant policies annually to ensure they remain aligned with federal regulations and institutional guidelines. Any changes to the policy will be communicated to you promptly.

For more information, please contact the Financial Aid Office or visit our office during regular hours. We are here to assist you with the application process and ensure that you have the financial support you need to succeed at DSDT.
