Career Skills Program (CSP) at Fort Hood

Our Career Skills Program (CSP) allows service members to train 100% in-residence at Fort Hood. This accelerated program is 10 weeks long with a tuition of $10,000, designed to help you build skills and transition with confidence.
 
For those seeking additional options, the same program is also available through our main campus in Detroit, MI. The program is nationally accredited, offered in both in-residence and online formats, with a tuition of $15,000. This accredited version includes an extended 12-week schedule, providing two additional weeks of training. Accredited programs may also qualify for multiple funding sources, including VA benefits, Title IV financial aid, and other workforce funding opportunities.
 
Please note: The Fort Hood CSP program is not accredited by the COE at this time and is available only on a tuition basis.

Comprehensive Curriculum

All lesson plans and syllabi are subject to change based upon program choice.

Certificate

Upon completing the program, you’ll receive a CSP Training Certificate of Completion, validating your preparation for CompTIA Network+, Security+, and CySA+ certifications.

This program requires 240 clock hours of instruction, labs, and assessments to complete.

Introduction​

The CSP Training Program at DSDT is designed to equip students—especially transitioning service members—with the skills and knowledge to launch careers in IT and cybersecurity. This 10-week, fast-paced program emphasizes three core CompTIA certifications: Network+, Security+, and CySA+.

Students will learn from experienced industry professionals through hands-on labs, interactive applications, and real-world projects. Core topics include networking fundamentals, security analysis, and threat response. By the end of the program, students are prepared to sit for certification exams and apply career-ready skills immediately.

Summary​

The CSP Training Program provides students with a clear roadmap to gainful employment. With instruction across three industry-recognized courses, participants develop expertise aligned with current academic and workforce expectations. This structured certificate program combines classroom instruction, virtual labs, and applied projects to ensure students graduate career-ready.

Students will receive a daily assignment or quiz through the Canvas LMS or external resource to verify comprehension of daily lessons

A weekly test designed to verify learning and assist students in gaining confidence in knowledge.

Students will participate in various lab activities to help develop hands on understanding of curriculum. These will include resources or server based virtual machine components.

Requirements

A basic understanding of technology is recommended, but no prior experience is needed to enroll.

Personal Computer with stable access to internet (highly recommended)

Specifications

8-16GB USB Flash Drive or Portable USB or FireWire Hard Drive and Dropbox account (Highly recommended)

Notebook and/or sketch book

Schedule

Classes are structured to fit within a 10-week term. Students work with academic counselors to create a manageable schedule and access additional support if needed.

Cost of Attendance (COA)

The estimated total cost of attending school for a specific period, including tuition, fees, housing, food, books, transportation, and other related expenses.

Attendance

Daily attendance is required. Students are responsible for making up missed work and contacting instructors or classmates to cover any absences. Active participation ensures maximum success.
