In the Technology Professional 2 Program at DSDT, students will have the opportunity to prepare for the CompTIA A+ certification, which is a widely recognized and highly respected credential in the field of IT. The CompTIA A+ certification is designed to certify the skills of IT professionals in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software.
To obtain the certification, participants will need to pass two exams: 220-1001 and 220-1002. In this course, you will receive the necessary training and support to help prepare for these exams. Students will have access to online study materials, practice tests, and instructor-led lectures to help gain a thorough understanding of the concepts covered on the exams.

This is a certificate of completion program which includes instruction in One (1) Information Technology Course: CompTIA A+.
CompTIA A+ 220-1101 covers PC hardware and peripherals, mobile device hardware, networking and troubleshooting hardware and network connectivity issues. CompTIA A+ 220-1102 covers installing and configuring operating systems including:

Students will participate in a challenging and worthwhile certificate program based on current industry/academic expectations. Many of the course research requirements and assignments will be fulfilled during lab time, a one-hour session during in class meetings will be dedicated to projects and task assessments.

Students will receive a daily assignment or quiz through the Canvas LMS or external resource to verify comprehension of daily lessons.
A weekly test designed to verify learning and assist students in gaining confidence in knowledge.
Students will participate in various lab activities to help develop hands on understanding of curriculum. These will include resources or server based virtual machine components.

Any class session or activity missed, regardless of cause, reduces the opportunity for learning and may adversely affect a student’s achievement. Students are responsible to instructors for class attendance and for any class work missed during an absence. Student is responsible to catch up on the missing material on his/her own by contacting fellow classmates or instructor.
